Hair Extensions in Gurgaon by MG Makeovers at ₹199 per strand
Hair extensions add length and volume with individual strands of extension hair. MG Makeovers uses the Nano Ring method: each strand is secured to a small section of your hair with a tiny ring, with no heat or glue.
Every appointment starts with a free consultation to match colour and plan the length and quantity. The stylist then attaches the strands one by one, working up the head. Refills and removal are charged per strand.

The Basics
What Are Hair Extensions?
Hair extensions are lengths of hair attached to your own hair to change how it looks, longer, fuller, or with extra colour dimension.
Professional systems differ in how they attach, how much they weigh and how they are maintained, so the right choice depends on your natural hair as much as on the look you want.
- Add length
- Increase visible volume
- Fill out thinner ends
- Create colour dimension
- Reshape your hairstyle's silhouette
Not All Extensions Are the Same
Extension systems vary in:
- 01Attachment method
- 02Hair quality
- 03Weight
- 04Application time
- 05Maintenance
- 06Longevity
- 07Suitability for your hair type
Length or Volume
What Do You Want to Change?
Length
For clients who want:
- Longer hair, sooner
- Longer layers
- A dramatic length change
- Bridal or event styling
- More styling possibilities
Volume
For clients who want:
- Fuller-looking hair
- Thicker-looking ends
- More visible density
- Better shape and body
- Fuller ponytails and updos
Some clients want both. The amount and placement of extension hair are decided at consultation, not by simply choosing the maximum number of strands.
Available at MG Makeovers
Nano Ring Extensions
Small Attachments. Seamless Results.
Nano Ring extensions are individual strands of extension hair, each finished with a very fine tip. A tiny ring secures each strand to a small section of your natural hair.
The rings are closed with pliers, no heat or glue is used to attach them, and strands are placed one by one, working up the head until the planned length or volume is reached.
- 01
A Small Section
A fine section of your natural hair is selected close to the scalp.
- 02
The Ring
A tiny ring is threaded onto your hair with the extension strand inside it.
- 03
Secured
The ring is gently clamped closed with pliers to hold the strand in place.
- 04
Blended
Once all strands are fitted, the hair is cut and styled so the lengths blend.
A smaller attachment does not automatically mean a risk-free one. Suitable weight, careful placement, regular maintenance and professional removal are what protect your natural hair.
Compare Methods
Which Hair Extension Method Is Right for You?
These are common extension methods in the market. MG Makeovers currently offers Nano Ring extensions. The right method depends on your natural hair, desired result, extension weight, lifestyle and maintenance preferences.

Hair Quality
Human, Remy, Virgin, What the Terms Mean
Extension hair is sold under terms that sound precise but are not used consistently by every supplier. Here is what they usually describe.
- Human Hair
- Describes the material, real human hair rather than synthetic fibre. On its own it says nothing about how the hair was collected or processed.
- Remy
- Usually means the hair's cuticles are kept intact and aligned root to tip, which can help it tangle less. Suppliers don't all apply the term the same way.
- Virgin
- Usually means the hair has not been chemically coloured or processed. It describes processing history, not cuticle alignment, hair can be one, both or neither.
Ask about the hair used for your extensions at consultation, how it feels, matches and wears matters more than a label.

Colour Matching & Blending
The Extension Should Disappear Into Your Hair.
Beautiful extensions are not simply longer hair. How natural they look depends on how carefully they are matched, placed and blended into what you already have.
- Colour
- Matching the main shade of your hair, not just its ends.
- Tone
- Warm, cool or neutral undertones that read true in daylight.
- Root-to-Length
- Accounting for any natural shift in colour along the hair.
- Placement
- Positioning strands so attachments sit discreetly within your hair.
- Cutting & Layering
- Cutting extensions into your own layers so the lengths merge.
- Texture
- Choosing hair that sits with your natural wave, body and finish.
Free Consultation
Your Hair Comes First.
Before recommending extensions, your stylist looks at your hair as a whole, so the method and quantity suit you, rather than selling a fixed number of strands.
- Current length
- Hair density
- Natural texture
- Scalp comfort
- Desired length
- Desired volume
- Lifestyle
- Styling habits
- Maintenance you're happy with
- Colour
- Previous chemical treatments
- Condition of your natural hair

Planning Your Extensions
How Many Strands Do You Need?
There is no universal answer. Quantity is planned around your hair and the result you want.
- Natural hair density
- Desired length
- Desired fullness
- Extension weight
- Placement
- Your haircut
- The final look you want
Subtle Volume
A light top-up of fullness, often through the mid-lengths and ends.
Length + Volume
Enough hair to lengthen and fill out the shape together.
Full Transformation
A noticeably longer, fuller look planned across the head.
Illustrative examples, not strand counts or guaranteed results.

Moderate Length & Fullness
For a natural-looking increase in length and fullness.
20"–30"
Dramatic Length
For clients who want a more dramatic transformation.

Professional Fitting
Why Professional Fitting Matters
Incorrect fitting, excessive weight or poor maintenance can contribute to tension, tangling or breakage. Proper assessment, fitting, maintenance and professional removal are important for protecting the health of your natural hair.
- 01
Weight
Extension weight must suit what your natural hair can comfortably carry.
- 02
Placement
Where strands sit affects comfort, movement and how discreet they are.
- 03
Spacing
Even spacing spreads the load and helps the result look natural.
- 04
Blending
Cutting and styling decide whether extensions disappear into your hair.
- 05
Maintenance
Regular repositioning keeps attachments in the right place as hair grows.
- 06
Removal
Correct removal protects your natural hair at the end of wear.
Is It for You?
Who Should Consider Extensions?
Extensions can suit people who want:
- More length
- Additional volume
- Fuller-looking ends
- A temporary transformation
- Bridal or event styling
- Enhanced hairstyles
- Colour dimension without colouring all your own hair
Consultation Is Especially Important With
- Very fine hair
- Fragile hair
- Significant breakage
- Active scalp problems
- Recent major chemical processing
- Previous extension-related damage
Extensions are a styling service, not a treatment for hair loss. If you have scalp or hair-loss concerns, please seek advice from a dermatologist or trichologist.
Fine & Thin Hair
Can You Get Hair Extensions With Fine Hair?
Yes, sometimes. The method, weight, placement and quantity matter significantly more.
Fine hair can only carry so much. A trained stylist should assess whether extensions are appropriate for you, and which method and weight distribution are suitable, before anything is fitted.
For some clients, a lighter plan focused on the ends, or no extensions at all, is the better recommendation.

After Your Appointment
Refills, Longevity & Removal
Refill & Repositioning
- Your natural hair grows, moving rings away from the scalp.
- Tangling can build up near grown-out attachments.
- Rings are opened, moved up and re-secured.
- Extension hair is checked and may be refitted depending on its condition.
Industry guidance for ring systems commonly suggests repositioning around every 6–8 weeks. Your stylist will recommend the interval for your hair.
How Long Do They Last?
- Extension hair lifespan: how long the hair itself stays in good condition.
- Attachment interval: how long until rings need repositioning.
- These are not the same, hair can often be refitted at a refill.
How long your extensions remain usable depends on the extension hair, attachment method, maintenance, natural hair growth and your care routine.
Professional Removal
- Nano rings are gently opened with pliers.
- Each extension strand is then slid out of your hair.
- The right removal method depends on the extension system.
Please don't pull, cut or prise out professionally fitted extensions yourself, this can break or damage your natural hair.
Aftercare
Caring for Your Nano Ring Extensions
General guidance for ring-based extensions. Different methods have different requirements, always follow the specific advice your stylist gives you.
Brushing
- Use a soft-bristle or extension-friendly loop brush.
- Brush gently from the ends upward.
- Support the hair near attachments as you brush.
Washing
- Use the shampoo your stylist recommends, sulfate-free is commonly advised.
- Be gentle around the rings; don't scrub attachments.
- Many clients wash a little less often than before.
Conditioning
- Keep heavy conditioners and oils away from the rings.
- Concentrate products on mid-lengths and ends.
- Follow your stylist's product recommendations.
Drying
- Pat or squeeze dry, avoid rough towel rubbing.
- Dry the attachment area thoroughly.
- Avoid sleeping on wet hair.
Heat Styling
- Always use a heat protectant.
- Avoid direct heat on the rings.
- Check with your stylist before colouring or heavy heat styling.
Sleeping
- Detangle gently before bed.
- A loose braid or low ponytail can reduce tangling.
- A smooth pillowcase may help reduce friction.
Swimming
- Chlorine and salt water can dry hair and affect attachments.
- Tie hair back or wear a cap.
- Rinse with fresh water and condition afterwards.
Gym & Sweat
- Tie hair back loosely during workouts.
- Rinse or wash sweat out regularly.
- Dry the roots well afterwards.
Avoid These
7 Hair Extension Mistakes to Avoid
- 1
Choosing by length alone
Length is only half the plan, density, weight and blending matter as much.
- 2
Using too much weight
More strands than your hair can carry can add tension.
- 3
Ignoring colour and texture
A mismatch is what makes extensions look obvious.
- 4
Skipping maintenance
Grown-out attachments are more prone to tangling and matting.
- 5
Heavy products near attachments
Oils and rich conditioners can cause slipping.
- 6
Sleeping with tangled hair
Knots left overnight can tighten around attachment points.
- 7
Removing extensions yourself
Incorrect removal can break or pull out natural hair.

Nano Ring application at MG Makeovers typically takes around 1–3 hours, depending mainly on the number of strands, plus the time needed for blending and styling.
06How long do Nano Ring extensions last?

Rings move away from the scalp as your hair grows and need repositioning. Industry guidance for ring systems commonly suggests around every 6–8 weeks; your stylist will recommend the interval that suits your hair.
08Can hair extensions add volume?
Yes. Extensions can be placed to add fullness and thicker-looking ends, with or without adding much length.

Sometimes. With fine hair, the method, weight, placement and quantity matter even more. A trained stylist should assess whether extensions are appropriate and what weight distribution your hair can comfortably support.
10Can hair extensions damage natural hair?
They can if they are too heavy, poorly placed, not maintained or removed incorrectly, which may contribute to tension, tangling or breakage. Proper assessment, fitting, maintenance and professional removal are important for protecting your natural hair.
11Can I wash my hair with extensions?
Yes. Use the shampoo and conditioner your stylist recommends, be gentle around the attachments and avoid scrubbing them. Many clients wash a little less frequently than before.
12Can I colour hair extensions?
Many human hair extensions can be coloured, but always check with your stylist first, colour choice is best planned before fitting.
13Can I use heat styling tools?

14Can I swim with hair extensions?
Chlorine and salt water can dry hair and affect attachments. Tie your hair back or wear a cap, then rinse with fresh water and condition afterwards.
15Can I sleep with hair extensions?
Yes. Detangle gently before bed and consider a loose braid or low ponytail to reduce tangling. Avoid sleeping on wet hair.
16How should I brush hair extensions?
Use a soft-bristle or extension-friendly loop brush, start at the ends and work upward, and support the hair near the attachments as you go.
17Can hair extensions be reused?
Nano Ring extensions can be reused when they are repositioned at a refill, provided the extension hair is still in good condition.
18How are Nano Ring extensions removed?
Your stylist gently opens each ring with pliers and slides the extension strand out. Please don't try to remove professionally fitted extensions yourself.

They differ in placement, maintenance and removal, the right choice depends on your hair and goals. MG Makeovers currently offers Nano Ring extensions.
